Giambattista Cilia + Giusto Occhipinti + Cirino Strano = COS! Located at the farthest tip of south eastern Sicily in Vittoria, Ragusa.
Cos are leaders in the wine industry, where all their wines tell a story and the story of the Sicilian land. With the Mediterranean climate hosting milder temperatures than other areas of Ragusa, as well as African roots from various architectural ruins, vegetation of olives, carob, almond trees and vines abound, this unique climate works together with Cos to create unique wines.
Certified organic and with the maceration process taking place in traditional terracotta Amphora, earthenware jars, the process produces natural micro-oxygenation without added flavors/aromas. As well as temperature regulation, preservation of wine freshness, cleanliness, Amphora is a beautiful way to age wines and also last forever when well maintained.
12 Strazzanti pistachio cream filled dark chocolate truffles presented in our classic Strazzanti gift box, the perfect way to treat yourself or a loved one. Our Crema di pistacchio siciliano is produced with 40% Sicilian pistachio made in small batches for optimum freshness. Our pistachios are grown using sustainable dry farming which are lightly roasted for a superior nutty flavour and harvested every 2 years to produce a superior quality pistachio in flavour and texture.
COS Nero di Lupo is a Sicilian red wine, unfiltered and made with 100% Nero d’Avola and is biodynamic. On the nose this wine has aromas of pomegranate and cloves with warm tannic notes. On the palate, complex and mineral with dried fruit flavours backed up with notes of almonds and smoke.
A dark crimson red in colour with the tannins giving this wine excellent structure and a smooth and lingering finish. Unfiltered and oak aged for up to 24 months, this wine is rich and intense and pairs well with hearty ragus and sauces.
COS Rami Bianco is a Sicilian white wine, made from 50% Grecanico and 50% Inzolia certified organic with sweet aromas of apricots, dried flowers and orange peel. This wine is highly elegant on the palate and has been aged for 9 months in traditional terracotta amphora.
Food Pairing – Pasta con le Sarde, couscous, fish and all round aperitivo.
COS Pithos Bianco is a Sicilian orange biodynamic wine, with skin contact made from 100% Grecanico. Soft and understated with some floral notes meld into white, yellow stone fruits, peaches and savoury herbs, with some saline notes, excellent freshness and acidity.
Macerated with the skins for 7 months, this wine is fermented in terracotta amphora and manages to be both supple and rounded in the mouth but at the same time grippy, spicy and herbal.
Food Pairing – Shellfish and all round aperitivo.
